Navigating the Site

When you click on one of the chapter buttons from the Internet Project Home Page, your browser will open on the project for that chapter. You will see several buttons on the left side of the window. This list of buttons is your control panel for navigating the project. The larger window on the right side has information on what to expect and what you can do in the current portion of the project. Often, this window will open on other sites on the Internet.
The intent behind these projects is to give you a controlled view of some of the best sites on the Internet today...sites that can help you better understand the concepts covered in your class.

As you explore those other sites, the Internet Project buttons will remain on the left side of your browser. You can always return to the Internet Projects by clicking on one of the buttons. The buttons are described as follows:
Back to Introduction displays the introduction to the current chapter's project. Use this button when, after exploring other internet sites in the right side of your browser, you want to return to the beginning page for the current chapter's project.
Project Background displays background information and readings on the current project. This page gives you information on the nature of the problem: Background information gives you an "executive summary" of the situation.
Looking at data displays the central page for looking at data and graphics for the chapter's project. Here, you will see the situation in more detail, looking at different aspects of the data, visualizing the problem from different angles.
Statistical analysis displays the central page for visualization of the statistical techniques covered in the chapter. Some of the demonstrations and animations apply specifically to the project for the chapter; others help you to visualize the general statistical techniques and concepts covered in the chapter.
Locations for further research displays a page containing links to other sites for further exploration of the techniques and concepts covered in the project. You can use this page as a starting point for research if you've chosen this project as a term paper, or if you simply want to explore the topic further.
You can also use this page to find out more about the writers and teachers who developed the sites visited in the project. Often, you can visit other sites developed by these authors to get a wider view of their work and research.
Return to the Internet Projects Home Page displays the Internet Projects Home Page, which is the starting page for all chapters in the Internet Projects.
